  • How do I get an online digital banking account with MONEYAP?

    If you are a new user:

    • Download the MONEYAP mobile banking app (available on iOS and Android)
    • Launch the app
    • Once you get to the welcome screen, create your account in a few easy steps. Remember to keep your ID on hand!

  • Is MONEYAP free?

    MONEYAP is free to download and use. You do not require a minimum salary or have to maintain a minimum balance to create an account or begin using MONEYAP. Future card plans will allow you to upgrade to a paid MONEYAP account or pay for selected packages on the go for more features. While MONEYAP is free, certain transactions or transfers may come with banking fees. You can see a list of these fees under the more section in the app or our website.

  • Can I have more than one type of account?

    At the moment, MONEYAP only offers personal current digital banking accounts and debit cards.

  • What do I need to open a personal digital banking account?

    To open a MONEYAP personal account, you must have the following:

    • An active Ghanian mobile number
    • Valid ID

  • Do you offer online digital business accounts?

    For now, we do not offer business accounts. However, when we do launch MONEYAP for business, you will need:

    • An active Ghanian mobile number
    • Email address
    • Valid ID
    • Business
    • Registration Certificate

  • Am I required to keep a minimum balance in my account?

    Nope! No minimum balance is required to maintain your MONEYAP digital banking account.

  • How can I deposit money into my MONEYAP account?

    You can deposit money into your MONEYAP digital banking account through any ADB ATM/CDM machine via cash or cheque. You can also top up through another bank debit or credit card issued in the MONEYAP or do a fund transfer using your existing bank account.

  • Is it possible for my account to go into a negative balance?

    You cannot overdraw your MONEYAP digital banking account. MONEYAP is a current account and uses only the money you have added to your account.

  • Can I issue cheques from my MONEYAP account?

    We do not issue cheque books with your MONEYAP current digital banking account – but if you receive a cheque in your name, you can deposit it into your MONEYAP account using any ADB cheque deposit machine.

  • Can I rename my account on the app?

    You can not rename your digital banking account, but you can rename your virtual cards in the app. MONEYAP also lets you choose the name you would like displayed on your main debit card when you sign up. However, if you wish to change the name of your card at a later date, you can do so from the app and reorder a new card. Charges may apply
